Anibal Romero was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, the son of Ecuadorian parents who taught him from an early age the importance of moral values such as honesty and perseverance. These ideals eventually became the structure of his firm. He began his studies in law at the Catholic University of Santiago of Guayaquil in Ecuador and then completed his education at Rutgers University School of Law in Newark, New Jersey. He also received his master’s degree in criminology from the State University of New York in Albany, New York.

Before launching his own law firm, Attorney Romero worked at the prestigious law firm of Dewey & Leboeuf, where he was in charge of the contractual area for multinational clients. In 2009, he established the first office of The Romero Firm in Newark, New Jersey, with the objective of providing representation services to the community and helping them through the immigration process.

Since then, his practice has extended adding new fields of expertise and reaching out to new geographical areas of the country. His passion continues to drive his efforts to support thousands of people with their legal needs.

She holds the Managing attorney position in our Corona Queens Office.

After practicing many years as an attorney in Colombia, Eugenia Mendoza obtained her Master of Law from Pace Law School, and she has been working in the United States in Immigration, Family and Matrimonial Law, Real Estate, Criminal Law and Personal Injury.

He studied Information and Communications Technology at Rutgers University. Mr. Guerrero started working in immigration as a part-time job during the summer of 2009. Since then he has been working for The Romero Firm with almost a decade of experience in immigration.

Cassandre Lamarre is a Haitian-American attorney with over sixteen years of legal experience. She joins The Romero Firm as Of Counsel and practices in the firms Newark office. Her areas of practice range from immigration, criminal defense and real estate.

Born and raised in New York, Cassandre attended Virginia Commonwealth University and received her Bachelor of Arts in English. She later received her Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall University School of Law. After graduating from law school, she clerked for the Honorable Anthony J. Mellaci Jr. in Monmouth County, criminal division. She currently holds a position as Assistant Public Defender with the Newark Municipal Court Public Defenders Office.

Cassandre has always had a passion for immigration law and the immigration community. She has managed her own practice, and also held the position of Managing attorney in a general practice firm. She has successfully represented numerous clients in removal and asylum proceedings as well as adjustment petitions. She has represented both Buyers and Sellers in real estate closings and assists clients in resolving foreclosure matters. As a Public Defender she has developed a vast knowledge in criminal defense and traffic related matters.

Cassandre’s goalas an attorney is to provide the most honest and effective legal representation possible. She wants her clients to feel confident in the knowledge that she genuinely cares about their case and will work diligently for them.

Ms. Kornegay was born and grew up in Spain before moving to New York City, where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Hunter College.

Prior to joining The Romero Firm, Ms. Kornegay worked in the area of family law, where she gained experience working with individual clients and assisting in drafting and filing legal documents in court. Ms. Kornegay is fluent in Spanish.
